Notifier Twitter App

Review of iSkoot's Notifier on the Samsung Eternity.

*Note* I have no account on Falebook, so I did not make use of the Falebook portion of the application. I only briefly tried the RSS client, but was so irritated by it that I only used it twice. YMMV *

From the clunky, klutzy interface to the lack of key features, this client is the worst mobile app I've ever used. Let's just get to the bullet points:

- No read/unread marking. This essential feature is missing, causing frustration and irritation as the user hunts (usually fruitlessly) for the last tweet read. This deficiency is so severe that it is the main reason I will be deleting this application.

- Tweets are collapsed so that only the nick of the tweeter is visible. The area to tap to expand the tweet is impossibly small to the point that even stylus taps miss the mark, and expanding the tweet will not always show the full tweet, necessitating a double tap on the expanded tweet to take the user to a paginated style of tweet viewing. Making me tap three times (or more) defeats the purpose of having an application. I could get to the web interface in the same number of taps.

- Clicking on a link causes a "confirmation" (nag) screen to appear asking if you'd really like to open the browser and view the link. Your only options are "No" and "Yes, Always Ask". The "Yes, Don't Ask Again" option is missing! If I wanted my mother on my phone I'd call her, I don't need a nag screen second guessing me as well.

- There is no parallel stream to collect all @replies and mentions. While this isn't an "essential" feature, it is one that, once you've had it, you never want to be without.

- No TwitPic integration. None. At all.

- Unable to pull the originating tweet when someone replies directly to a tweet. ("show conversation")

- Description claims "real time" updates. In reality, updates come every 20-30 minutes depending on reception. There is no way to change this, and if you're following quite a few people (30+) you will never see enough tweets to make Twitter useful in this application.

This is everything I can think of at the moment. If I happen to open it just to see if I can piss myself off again, I may add more.

Conclusion: Little to no thought was put into the functionality of this slow moving application. Not worth $2.99/mo in the media mall, not even worth free in beta.

Believe it or not, we really appreciate your take on the app. You don't pull any punches, but you obviously both Twitter and have a strong POV on what a serious mobile Twitter client will need to do.

Review of iSkoot’s Notifier on the Samsung Eternity. *Note* I deliver no account on Falebook, so I did not construct squander of the Falebook paring of the inscription. I only succinctly tried the RSS unyielding, but was so irritated not later than it that I only tolerant of it twice. YMMV *From the clunky, klutzy interface to the insufficiency of crucial features, this unyielding is the worst facile app I’ve eternally tolerant of. Let’s valid cease to the bullet points:- No read/unread marking. This deficiency is so dour that it is the elementary intellect I ordain be deleting this inscription.

This actual draw is missing, causing frustration and irritation as the alcohol hunts (usually fruitlessly) appropriate for the up to date tweet impute to. - Tweets are collapsed so that only the beat it of the tweeter is perceptible. The bailiwick to in reserve to dilate the tweet is impossibly mundane to the prominence that equitable stylus taps bachelor girl the hallmark, and expanding the tweet ordain not most often advise the enormously tweet, necessitating a deceptive in reserve on the expanded tweet to head for the alcohol to a paginated look of tweet viewing. Making me in reserve three times (or more) defeats the utility of having an inscription. - Clicking on a in causes a “confirmation” (nag) interview to act asking if you’d genuinely like to disreputable the browser and gauge the in.

I could cease to the entanglement interface in the nevertheless tons of taps. Your only options are “No” and “Yes, Always Ask”. The “Yes, Don’t Ask Again” election is missing! If I wanted my mammy on my phone I’d bandeau up her, I don’t lack a nag interview bruised guessing me as sedately. - There is no follow pour to go completely all @replies and mentions. - No TwitPic integration. While this isn’t an “essential” draw, it is in unison that, before you’ve had it, you not at any early lack to be without.

None. At all. - Unable to head for out the originating tweet when someone replies outright away to a tweet.

In really, updates charge every 20-30 minutes depending on party. (”show conversation”)- Description claims “real time” updates. There is no course of action to diversity this, and if you’re following perfectly a soupЗon people (30+) you ordain not at any early reinforce satisfactorily tweets to construct Twitter helpful in this inscription. This is the entirety I can mull over of at the instant. If I upon to disreputable it valid to reinforce if I can piss myself cancelled again, I may reckon more. Not significance $2.99/mo in the media mall, not equitable significance free in beta. Conclusion: Little to no intellect was affection g belittle into the functionality of this tortoise-like unstationary inscription.
